Veteran actor Yinka Quadri has recalled the emotional final moments he shared with his late best friend, actor Ogogo, revealing what the actor told him while he visited him at the hospital shortly before his death.
Ogogo, who reportedly died after battling stage four cancer, was laid to rest in his hometown in Ilaro, Ogun State, a day after his death.
Speaking for the first time since the tragic incident, an emotional Yinka Quadri described Ogogo as his “twin brother from heaven.”
“I have always said that we were twins from heaven, only born to different mothers,” he said.
In a lengthy Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Yinka Quadri recalled visiting Ogogo at the hospital and breaking down in tears after seeing him on his sick bed.
According to him, Ogogo tried to comfort him, insisting that nothing bad would happen.
“I will never forget the last time I saw you at the hospital. You were lying on your sick bed, and when I saw you, I could not hold back my tears. You looked at me and said, ‘Yinka, don’t cry. Nothing bad will happen to me.’ And I responded, ‘Yes, Amen.’”
Yinka said Ogogo later asked him to hand him a bottle of water on a nearby table, which he drank from.
“A few minutes later, you asked me to give you the bottle of water on the table. I gave it to you, and you drank from it. Then you looked at me and said, ‘Yinka, can you see that I drank the water, even though I ate this morning?’”
He said Ogogo asked the doctors to confirm that he had eaten that morning, and they did.
“At that moment, I said, ‘Glory be to God.’ My hope and faith became even stronger. But the doctors only advised us to remain prayerful,” Yinka added.
The veteran actor was visibly heartbroken at Ogogo’s funeral, where he was seen shedding tears as he paid his final respects to the man he described as more than just a friend.
